First Mining Symposium of Geosynthetics in Brazil
In July, TDM Brasil organized the First Mining Symposium of Geosynthetics, which had the support of the ABMS - Brazilian Association of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, a widely recognized non-profit association of engineering in Brazil.
The objective of the event was to present different geosynthetic solutions for the mining sector, showing a variety of options to replace conventional products in an environmentally friendly and technically proper manner. The event was attended by industry experts, both national and international, who discussed various issues including reinforcement of roads and access, waterproofing systems, geoelectric leak detection tests, embankments, among others.
The closure of this First Symposium was performed by Dr. George R. Koerner, Director of Geosynthetic Institute, which is a world benchmark in issues related to geosynthetics.
